I think I used a poor choice of words. I usually rely on a wallpaper to inspire my styles, but I am impressed when a knockout style is presented over an effective bsetroot background. I also appreciate the effective use of a well-chosen wallpaper. And while I love pie, you really can't beat a good cheesecake. ;)

Hey, I like bsetroot styles more because they show attention to detail, and I don't have to go hunting for a wp that I'll get tired of in a few days.

I'm hesitant to chime in on this discussion because i think it comes down to personal preference. However, as someone who uses wallpapers to inspire styles fairly frequently, i will say that i tend to look at the whole style as art, and that can just as easily include a wallpaper as a bsetroot background. To each his/her own.

I have mixed feelings about the wpaper issue. It is true that a great wall will attract attention and probably get more clicks than a bsetroot; however, it's also true that the more sophisticated styles are usually over a bsetroot background. I personally am turned off by girlie walls, so I may miss an otherwise good style that is upstaged by a girlie wall. My prejudice assumes that the style will be "immature." I'd love to see more bsetroot backgrounds.

I agree 100% with zen. I'm much more likely to check out a bsetroot style then I am a busy wallpaper style. It takes more creativity to do a bsetroot style. I find them much more usable because more time was spent on color and design than on matching colors in a wall.

auto: i think maybe im arrogant but i kind of feel that a fellow style author is going to notice a graet bsetroot style a little quicker then the average user who might respond otherwise to say... a girly wall.. etc.
