Changed to using AIMP2 with a NICE skin that matches theme including blue glow |
That Aimp2 is pretty amazing. Was just looking at skins for it. Nice wallpaper BTW. |
Thx, ima make it available tomorrow via deviantart
Also, my website should be back up tomorrow sometime, will post more on that later though. |
Ehm, no offense, but the wallpaper components obviously come from xoblite.net. Given that I designed the xoblite "x" logo (if not the actual font used for the x itself) and that the background is much likely the same greyscaled-by-yours-truly Propaganda wallpaper tile as used on xoblite.net, don't you think you should ask someone for permission first? And with regards to the xoblite "x" logo, I'm afraid I would have to say no to such a request since it is part of the xoblite graphical profile which I spent quite a lot of time on instead of going with the generic "box" icon a la bb4win. Please understand that I'm not trying to be an ass, I just want to keep something unique wrt xoblite which I actually spent some time on creating. Feel free to use any other X you wish though! ;) |
I planned on asking for permission before releasing it - yes the X and the wallpaper came from the xoblite website, I simply customized it and only took credit for customizing - never claimed to create from scratch. You have given your thoughts and I will not release it unless you change what has been said. |
qwilk: if you arent okay with the screenshot staying online let me know... |
No worries twoz; like I mentioned above I couldn't even claim copyright to all of it myself since the Propaganda wallpaper tile was created by Bowie J. Poag many many years ago (see e.g. link for the full set of Propaganda tiles) and released under an open license, which is how I could use it for the background on xoblite.net. Anyone else (including Mike) can obviously use it too. However, apart from this background tile, the xoblite logo/icon/website is a combination of several design elements, and it is this "visual identity" that I would prefer to (and am trying to) keep unique to xoblite. The main reason for this is (1) I still like it and think it suits xoblite very well (plus longevity is important), and (2) I'd rather not have to re-design the xoblite website when I barely have time for what really matters - coding (you know, things like finishing xoblite bb4...). Bottom line, I'm flattered that Mike liked these visual elements enough to modify them and put them in his screenshot, but I'd prefer if it doesn't end up all over the web... Please? :) |
qwilk: as I said above - you have given your thoughts and I will not release it unless you change what has been said...
I respect what you have said and will stay true to what I have said in response. |
